Well, after a quick trip to Texas to square things away with my house, it was back on the road again. I made my return trip from Albuquerque to Millwaukee and spent two days getting caught up at Headquarters. Then it was off to the U.S. Women's Open in Romeoville, Ill.
This event will always be one of my favorites because all of the players are incredibly nice, and the five TV show format provides a lot of excitement. Plus, I get to spend a good part of the week just enjoying the competition, as most of my work for this event won't begin until afterwards. At that point, I'll do my best to promote the players and the TV shows, which will air on ESPN for five consecutive Sundays beginning on Sept. 7.
Back on the Open Championships front, our staff is working hard to finalize all information so that the prize checks can be printed and mailed as soon as possible. As always, it does take time, and there are sometimes delays, but we will get them out as soon as possible.
Also, we made the announcement today that there will be 60 lanes in Las Vegas. Entries are going very well, and it should be an exciting year with the Masters, the Open Championships and Women's World Championships. It will be a fun seven months in Vegas.
Other than that, there's really no other updates to report. Everything is still winding down from Albuquerque, but we will regroup and look ahead toward Vegas and beyond very soon.
