tlscott300 - My Storm Special Agent was an "out of the box" finish with pin above my ring finger.  I'm right handed and probably considered a tweener.  Was able to play pretty straight up the boards in team but had to move inside for d/s at 5:30 the next day.

Saw quite a few NV's on the ball returns out there but didn't have anything close enough to us to watch or see how they did.

    Good Luck!!

I had my Shift drilled with pin between fingers and M/B under palm. Out of the 11 games I used it, 264, 266 and 275. I will be bringing it, White Dot, Silver Streak, Silver Streak Pearl and one more.. Haven't decided on fifth one between the Wild and RS1.

Re: What's in your bag for this years Open?

Hey all............someone asked about anyone using a Total NV out in Reno. Well I did and I had mixed results. My TNV is drilled with the "do not drill" layout because of my higher rev rate and lower ball speed. I left it in box condition to use in Reno.
I bowled Team on 3/8 @ 2:30 on a fresh shot. I wasn't able to find anything consistent with my TNV. I found a shot inside but was very inconsistent with holding the line. I moved out and squared up with the same issue. I realized that a stronger layout would have been a lot better with maybe 2000 grit finish to bite through the oil. I shot a whopping 496 while missing quite a few easy spares. I was a bit discouraged but was optimistic for D/S.
D/S was bowled next day 3/9 @ 9:30 am 2nd shift shot. I played the lanes up the track area hoping to find something...anything. I had a pretty good look but just as the day before my spare shooting let me down and shot 546. How bad was it??????  I threw 0 gutter balls, had 0 splits, and no first ball counts under 7 for the first six games.  HORRIBLE.
I decided in the ninth frame game 3 of Doubles to move way inside and stand right foot on the first dot from the left (i'm a righty) and rip the piss out of it. I STRUCK OUT!!
For Singles I stayed there....I was gonna live or die by inside. I started out 194 & 198 with my spare shooting again letting me down but at least I was striking. Me and a guy from the other Doubles team (Chuck Birge) were playing the same area and his partner was there using a sanded piece so I guess we wore a track for ourselves. The 3rd game I had the front 6 and felt real good. Unfortunately I knew with the next strike the guys in the booth would start filming and I tensed up and tugged # 7. Ended with a nice 245 for a 637 set.
In hindsight I wish I had followed my own advice and drilled up another TNV a bit stronger with more surface for the fresh shot.

    Hope this helps!!!!!   Chunk300

    1) AMF Triumph TNT

    2) AMF RADAR Alert.

    3) AMF Venom

    4) AMF Boogie

If you're not bowling with AMF, you're just not bowling!

I have a Total NV and I plan on using it in a few tournaments before taking it to Reno. I too had problems with consistancy when it had the 4000 finish on it and had it taken down to 2000. Now I really can notice the difference and it definitely helps with carry. The other balls I taking are:
    2. Brunswick Monster Bruiser
    3. Ebonite Nitro R/2 (updated)
    4. Ebonite Fire
    5. Columbia 300 Pearl Beast (spare ball)
At least I have everything covered.

I've become an Ebonite man by default, since the recent acquisition of Columbia by Ebonite.  In order of agressiveness, my arsenal will probably be (subject to change between now and May, of course):  Ebonite Angular One (which just paid for itself at a recent Senior Regional -- see posts elsewhere); Ebonite V2 Strong/R, Ebonite V2 Sweet, and Columbia White Dot (spare ball).

I'm not a lawyer, but I'd like to play one on TV.

Thank God no more commercials for awhile ending in "and I approved this message."

I am bringing the following for certain:

Visionary Immortal Solid.  I have had pretty good luck with this ball since getting it.  Definatly moves a lot more than anything else I have

C300 Action.  I have had this ball over a year now, but I still use it quite a bit.  Covers less boards than the Immortal, but more predictable.

    C300 White Dot

I am getting a Brunwick Red Zone at the end of this month.  I plan on keeping the polish on it.  I think I may bring this as well, just for a different look, and a polished ball.  Will know when I try it out.

My spare shooting has been a lot better lately, and with 7 weeks to go, I hope I am still feeling good before I go.  Will also do the BTM and Lane 81 instruction.

Only going to have the 3 I normally take to league.

    Columbia Wine U-dot
    Columbia Blue Dot
    Columbia U-turn

All are 14 lbs hand-me-downs until I gain my strength back from the oral chemo I'm currently taking.  Been on this med for 1 year now.  Hopefully I can get off this med soon so I can regain my strength.  Until then, I just go with the flow on my cake 220+.
