    Bowling on May 6 - 7th

Taking  Storm Domination Pin above ring finger mass bias strong (2000 abralon cover)

Black Widow pin below ring finger - mass bias close to vertical axis line (cover out of box)

Columbia Rock On Same drilling as on Widow. I know the ball is old, but in my opinion there has never been a better ball for oil.  Use it primarily at Nationals. (600 sand paper cover)

Spare Ball - Target Zone  Most important ball in the bag.

I do not usually shoot huge (except for Albequerque), but usually scratch out a 1800 - 1850.

    Good luck to all.

Re: What's in your bag for this years Open?

    Decisions-Decisions.

I haven't heard anyone mention Roto Grip yet, but I am planning on taking the following:

Epic Battle for the sauce.  Epic Saga with the OOB finish taken off.  RS-X with a similar arc as the Battle.  I'll leave the Super Sonic at home(he doesn't like to go swimming anyway), but  I will bring my Spare Tire.

My Plan "B" balls which could see some action(Various Manufacturers):

Black Cherry Bomb dulled a touch.  Dirty Bomb pearl OOB.  My Smokin' Inferno and Intense Inferno work well in certain situations.  I know I am at 8 balls, but one of these will    give up its spot if I decide to bring my Mean MachineTwo on our team are using a Machine and Mean Machine so the switch could help accentuate the Team Shot.  It isn't ALL about ME.

I'll be there 05/03 @ 2:30 PM for Team.  We will be the be the Team with the coolest shirts ever down on Lane 72.  They tried to put us on Lane 82, but I figured that one out and got us back in the house.  I'll be the short , fat guy with very little hair taking this stuff waaaay toooo serious.  (Calm down Ken, it's only a game.  Shut up you little devils inside my head.   I'm not listening. I'm not listening.)  For minors, you will find us 05/04 @ 11:30 AM on Lanes 33 -36.  You won't miss us, since our second set of extremely cool shirts will be broadcasting worldwide via the webcam(s).  It's not how we feel; it's how we look , and we look Marvelous.  We are not the best, but we sure look good.

We "had" a really great Classified Team, BUT we improved so much (60+ pins from last year's book) that we find ourselves banging heads with the Regulars.  Too late to punt.

     Hey CincySports:

Have you bowled yet; and if so, did the Yeah Baby work for you on the heavy oil in team?  I tried The New Standard on heavy oil last weekend in Reno for our winter league sweepers at the Grand Sierra Resort, but it still was a little weak.  I left every pin on the back row throughout the set(boo hoo).  I have a Yeah Baby coming in tomorrow which appears to be a snow tire in the sloppy stuff (if you can believe all the reviews).  I'm just wondering if it was a good fit for you.

     Thanks in advance,  Ken

Columbia 300  Resurgaance  Drill pattern 1   500 abralon

Columbia 300 Rival Drill pattern 3   4000 abralon

Columbia 300 Momentum  Drill pattern 1  Box finish

Columbia 300 Jazz  drill pattern 1  Box finish

    Columbia 300 white dot

And when I get there I will be purchasing another Momentum which I plan to  drill similar to pattern one but with the pin moved down below ring finger and cg kicked a little further out.

LOL,  I don't have the revs or near enough hand in/under the ball to worry about needing plastic for spares, especially on a pattern with much more oil than I throw on in my local house.  Could be proven wrong, only time will tell.  Hpw you been Randy?

    Hey Digm:

How you been buddy? I've been okay, you stateside for good now? Straight up the boards for team event is where it's at. A little surface is fine, but you don't need a piece of charcoal. The lanes aren't that tight, unless you have zero hand in the ball. I threw a box finish Ebonite Gamebreaker for team for 670, and if I can shoot that you should be a-okayWink

    Randy,

Been good.  Keeping the fingers crossed for being stateside for good.  Got a little over a year to retirement so I could get tagged for the desert as early as Sep.  As for Nat's, really just looking to see how I bowl on a tougher shot.  I've bowled the crappy house shots before but nothing really that you ever had to be really consistent.  Could be quite humbling.  As for the 2 new bullets, house finish right now but will probaly take each of them down to aroung 2000, maybe a little less on the complete NV.  Have to tell you on that ball.....................absolutely love it right now.  Have had both the big one and infinite one and by far the complete nv is the best ebonite ball I've thrown.

PS-sorry for the hijack all! Big Smile

I know I posted in here before....  but why not again..... and I may get some input on a thought I have....

     anyway in the bags

    Roto Grip Cell (box finish)

    Buzzbomb (500 abralon finish)

    Total NV

    Ebonite ONE

    Columbia White Dot

Secret Agent (thinkin about gettin this one.....not in the bag yet)

Been gettin decent practice on my Tuesday league for the Open....at least I think it's decent practice.  My league is on real wood lanes and the center runs a short/med length pattern.  The only thing I can control with any consistancy there is my white dot.  I play straight up around 10 and flot it out to maybe 7 or 8 and get decent carry.... in fact last Tuesday I had the first 8 twice in the last two games (267 - 276)  I'm thinkin I should be able to play a similar line just with my Cell or Buzzbomb and get the same look/carry.

The Open pattern is 42 ft and 3:1 ratio and on synthetics. Not quite the same look you're seeing from your tuesday league. Probably not even close, IMO.

Well the fact that I am forced to throw a plastic ball, I was thinkin that I'd see a similar reaction at the Open with a reactive ball.  Miss left and it skids, miss right and who knows where it's gonna wind up.  I think that's where the similarities end. We'll see once I get there.   I was thinkin of posting a recap of the day's events each day while I am in ABQ... keep me occupied a little so I don't wander over to the casinos and blow my bracket money before everything or spend whatever I win after everything  :)

Re: What's in your bag for this years Open?

Went to my first Nationals last year, shot a 1860, and this was with a 531 in team.

Last year I flew and took only 3 balls, Black Widow, Storm Vertigo, and a spare ball.

This year I am driving so taking a couple extra:

    Hammer Black Widow

    Storm Vertigo

Ebonite NVS (been bowling well with this one)

Track Rising (ordered, should be in next week)

    Spare ball

I don't go until the end of June, so we'll see how it goes, chances are I may buy a Storm Shift when I am there, a buddy has one and loves it and throws similar as me.
