I'll meet you there at 6ish. I have to drop the kid off at band practice, and then I will shoot across town, and get my revenge for that a$$ whipping you laid on me last week. I am a man with a mission, no mercy this time, big boy, and don't try and distract me, by having someone reveal their TAN LINE. LMAO

Oh snap...I better hit the ATM for some tip money so Gael will show me her tan line again Angel

     DrD & Kevin,

Maybe you can talk the president into entering a couple brackets while he's at the party.

DrD ever since your e-mail regarding the message board your pace is at a higher rate than before the e-mail. Just like me you and Randy just can't quite get away.

Read your post about the HS bowling. Is it the entire state not recognizing it or just the local school district? Maybe an enquiry to the HS bowling Dept at USBC could give some direction there. Our state recognized it when I was in high school when we kept score with an abacus. So I don't know how they even decided how to start it. By the way I have a trophy for district high series (1965) in the high school trophy case that's so old the plaque on it got lost. The last time I was in the school, when the kids were still going there, there was a post card propped up  against it and you couldn't even read whatwas on the card. If I went back now the card would probably be a dust pile in front of it.

    Oh yeah, tan lines Cool

No Ray, it is club level state wide. With the amount of interest in bowling in the State, I just don't understand it. The club bowlers in Tucson, love it, the competition is just as heated as a football game. When the fall junior leagues start bowling the Saturday morning trash talk is funny to hear. The kids really get into it.

Maybe the U of A starting a bowling team will add a little momentum to high schools adopting bowling as a team sport rather than a club level sport?

Everyone must be bowling tonight. Did you all see the Womens National Soccer Team last night. Abby Wamback broke her leg. That sucks. She our best player going into the Olympics.

i didn't get to bowl last night because i was working at the bowling alley. i probably would have done terribly anyway--we were bowling against a team that postponed. i'm always a little off when we're bowling against a bunch of nobodies. literally. (come on--that was a little funny. a very little)

It was a knee slapper..... definitely got a groan from me  :)

BTW..... it's a CENTER not an ALLEY.  You get mugged in an alley, you have fun in a center.  At least that's what they drilled into my head when I worked in a couple bowling centers in my younger days  :)

That totally stinks about Abby breaking her leg.  I was so saddened to hear that.  That will definitely affect the team.

I shot 667 last night--218-246-203.  Went back to bad habits the last game--got lazy.  We took all three games last night.  Shocker!

Any time. Kevin, and I put the Scorpion on the table, and dissected it, exposing all it's major organs.

A scorpion is dangerous and unpredictable, like this pattern. If you can't find the right groove on the lanes, you'll be stung!

The Scorpion measures 42 feet, and similar to the Viper, can yield a wide variety of strategies depending on the type and condition of the lane surface. However, Scorpion incorporates a larger volume of oil placed further down lane which often demands a more direct line. The scoring pace is normally medium to low for this pattern.

Find the right groove says it all. These lanes a fairly new, so they have no real track area yet. Started playing the way I saw them played Tues. night. Black Widow 1000 finish, played fairly straight 10 to 5, ball came back like a bomb, 233 opened in the 10th. We then started to play around with angles and balls. Changed to my Vibe, same thing, ball would come back from the 3,4, 5, board hard, outside of 3 never get up, Doom reacted the same way, any balls tugged, not yanked, had a certain amount of hold in the middle. If you yanked it hard in side it would snap hard in the dry, and you would miss badly left. Well then it happened, I believe they call it transition, carrydown, and breakdown. We did bowl 8 games apiece on these lanes, but this transition happen quick. I moved to 25 to 10 to 5  at the break point, and could not miss. 20 to 10 to 5 at the break point would not get up, go figure, not really, by playing outside as long as we did we pushed a lot into the track area so to speak.

Did the Scorpion play as advertised, in my opinion, yes. You could use multiple lines and angles to get to the pocket. Not being a cranker when the lanes broke down I changed to a more aggressive ball, and moved more inside. I averaged, about 195 for 8 games, high game was 233, low game was around 160, but then again, we were playing around with the condition. Was it fun, had a great time, did I learn anything, yes I did, did Kevin learn anything, I showed him how to make a 10 pin, with the amount that he leaves this should add 20 pins to his average LOL. Great time Kevin, enjoyed it, sad there were no TAN LINES, but the view to the left, was not all that bad, that deep knee bend, hi-lited the better attributes of the deliveryStick out tongue

I still need a lot more practice. I haven't rapped that many 10's in one night yet this summer. I also couldn't believe the number of pocket 7-10s that I left too. I'm guessing that is due to the ball coming too extreme of an angle???

I was a little bummed about the lack of tan lines as well, but Tanya practicing her deep knee bend release made up for that Stick out tongue
