I just looked him up in the Rochester YBT (http://www.ybtbowling.com/ytdstats_classic_averages.php) - he's getting blown away by a bunch of "kids" - he is a high school graduate (I think) - averaging 187 - not even in the top 25 - 30 averages.

    Dear Stand:

Are you surprised that Don Gates or Idahomember didn't provide us with that information?

Am I surprised  - no.  They must buy their rose tinted glasses at the same place as the Athletic Director of Syracuse and the owner of the Knicks!

     Dear Stand:

But Robby could "write the book," so to speak, on how to roll a 900 series. And it might be a very interesting book, indeed.

Seeing as though we've already covered the Zero property earlier in the thread, time for a pop quiz (and a possible thread hijack):

    (x+y) + z = x + (y+z) is an example of the ___________ law of algebra.

x(y+z) = xy + xz is an example of the ______________ law of algebra.

Consider the inequality ax > ay
What must be true about the constant number a for this to be true?
What must be true about the variables x and y for this to be true?

Being totally bored, and torturing myself watching The World v. Fish, I decided to stop and answer the math question. Hopefully, it isn't answered in a prior post. (and hopefully I am correct.)

    a > 0

    X = 0

    y > 0

Now back to your previous programming.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, USBC has often attempted to "fool" some of us (or, at a minimum, engage in cover-ups), not only in situations relating to Mushtare.

Unfortunately, I disagree with you MF!  USBC may not be the perfect governing body of the sport that everyone wants but they are making strides in the attempt of correcting past issues (IMO).  It is not conducive to dwell on the past but instead to look to the future by establishing goals and milestones to meet those goals.  It is obvious that the USBC will never be able to satisfy everyone, but hey tell me one organization (corprate or private) that has?

I fully expect to get flamed for my comments but let me say this, I understand that there are those that have had issue within their organizations and have not been given due process either by local, state, and even headquarters representatives.  It is through the processes of filing "written complaints", bring lawsuits to those in the wrong, and educated discussion that, UNFORTUNATELY, bring change and improvement to the system.

By feeding your sense of self importance by bringing up Mushtare, again, does nothing other than give you a rise.  Exactly how does this improve the sport/game/recreation?  A man who at one time was at the top of his game surely has more to offer this forum than the bantar you extract from a select few just to play the "when did I, it was my opinion, why is" card when called.  Its like Texas Holdem, some one raises the pot with 7 2 hold cards when there are Aces and Kings on the board.  When their bluff is called they resort to How could you call my bet?

I, truly, respect your love for the game and believe you should be able to express your opinion on the issues...after all you have the perfect vehicle to do so i.e. your opinion column.  Expect to be called when you make certain statements and instead of spinning it stand by it, after all you made the statement to begin with.

To end my soap box, wether you agree or disagree with the accomplishments of young Mushtare let it go and let him move on.  It counter productive to dwell on it...personally, I hope the best of success to the young man and my opinion of wether the 900's were done on the legit does not play a role in my position within our local association...its time to move on.

i'll take the "examples of laws" questions.

(x+y) + z = x + (y+z) is an example of the ______________law of algebra. I don't know about these "law" things, but this looks like the commutative property to me.

x(y+z) = xy + xz is an example of the ______________ law of algebra. Again, not sure about the "law," but this looks like the distributive property to me.

sorry, it was driving me nuts that no one was answering this question. by the way, i'm probably the absolute last person who should have known this. i'm a math moron, but i have a memory like a steel trap.

so, kev...bill and i should totally get a prize for this pop quiz of yours.
