Ever Do A Push-up On A Gutter Endcap?

Here's a new one, and yes, this guy is the biggest jerk in the league. Last night during the 3rd game of league, this bowler on the other team decided to do a pushup using the small gutter endcap between lanes 28 & 29 after he relased his bowling. He was being a show off because he was bowling good. A bowler on his team told him that was a foul and I immediately told him that it was a foul. His hands were definately beyond the foul line on the gutter endcap as they were one in front of the other. He shouts back that the foul light did not go off and we both said it doesn't matter. He comes back later and says there is no proof, but at least 20 other people, including the league secretary saw it. I stuck to my guns and gave gim zero for that shot. He did proceed to get the spare and did another pushup behind the foul line this time. My team won that game by over 100 pins and took 5 of 7 points. People have been complaining abouth this guy for years. I've always questioned why they keep letting him bowl in the league, but not enough captains appear to want to vote him out of the league. Maybe this will be the straw to convince them he has to go.

USBC rules state that at the conclusion of the season, all teams are disbanded. The captan of the "jerk's" team is under no obligation to ask the "jerk" back.

    Rule 104b. Franchise and Roster

The rosters of all teams shall automatically disband at the end of the season. A team franchise (team spot) in the league shall be held by the team captain provided the captain:

    1.   Is acceptable to the majority of the full membership of the board of directors.

    2.   Notifies the league secretary of his/her intention to retain the franchise on or before a date set by the league. Failure to do so will result in the franchise returning to the control of the board of directors.

A franchise cannot be recalled during the season without sufficient cause.

To answer your question: No, never did a push-up on a gutter cap.

    Voaks,

I totally agree with you. However, he IS the captain. The league we bowl in is a house league. We have asked the house NOT to call him when the league meeting is held next August.

that is awesome. that guy sounds like a real winner.

i used to bowl in the thursday night late league at my center regularly. one of the teams on our league was a team of drunkie-poohs. usually by about the 4th frame or so of the third game, they were emulating the PBA commercials that were on at the time (who else remembers "the swan?" huh? huh?) and "swimming" on the approach when getting strikes. good times.
