    Keith

How long is the tournament scheduled to run?? Nationals are going up to July 6th or so. When will you notify the returning 72 bowlers? It may be tough to find a flight with short notice since lately they are grounding half of the planes all over the country.

Let me know if you can.

    Thanks

The tournament will run until July 11th and I will make it final as soon as the casino looks at everything we did and matches money to entries. This should not take very long, I am thinking we will have everything finalized by July 25th, do not hold me to this date as the casino may need something more than I can see at this point, however I will make it final A.S.A.P. and contact everyone who qualifies quickly. Thanks Keith!!!!

We bowled yesterday and the set up is not a problem at all.  It is actually a really cool center.  The barriers are not much of a problem and the shot is not too demanding.

I want to thank Keith for the opportunity to bowl for such large cash prizes.  Keith was a great host and we really enjoyed bowling at his center.

I cant believe that the USBC will not let the Isleta advertise their tournament at the convention center even though the Isleta Casio is a major sponsor this year.  I am beginning to wonder if Tony Soprano is running our tournament.  UNBELIEVABLE!

I think 1st is around +250 (6 games) and the cut is around +120.  They are going to invite 1 out of 10 to bowl the finals in September.

I will probably need a flyer for this tournament. I don't know if I will be able to bowl in it, but it would be a nice option. Please send the flyer to coprdragon@yahoo.com. Thanks

I see these standings have not been updated since 4-13. How often do you update the scores?

If you could, send a flyer to gopher0001@aol.com (those are zeros).  Don't know if I can bowl it, but I plan on bowling as many side events as I can while I'm out there.

Hey AJ, were you going to post a report?

    Thanks.

Since you asked, I'll post. ...............

ISLETA CASINO and its staff (especially at the FUN CONNECTION) are nothing but classy and very helpful people. KEITH PARKER did everything possible to go out of his way for us. This tournament is advertised as "GUARANTEED MONEY" (see link above) so I thought it would be a way to lossen up a bit when we got into ALUBQUERQUE and bowl for some good money........

    THOUGHTS...........

We left home for the airport at 2:30 a.m. (not much sleep the night before). We have a 2 hour drive to the airport. Our flight left at 6:10 a.m. to get into ALBUQUERQUE at 10 a.m. KEITH was more than helpful with allowing us to bowl when we arrived (contacted him before arriving). Me and another guy in our group bowled... another guy watched and another guy practiced. I was told it was to be on a "house" condition. I started 10 pin and then 6 bagger.... the wheels proceeded to fall off. I was already getting tired and still had 5 games to bowl. This was not a "house" condition where you could throw it anywhere... it still required shot making. The carry was not very good for me or the other guy in our group. I could play in or out, but for me it didn't matter as I left a few 4-9's and 7-10's. Those splits and the combination of a few bad shots (from being tired also) did not add up to a very good score.

Yes, as stated in this thread, there are the "dividers" to seperate each pair. You probably will kick them a few times... especially shooting spares.

I personally would recommend this tournament to everyone as long as the money is "GUARANTEED". As I'm reading more and more, it sounds as if entries are lower than what expected so the prize money may change. My experience was good there and I defintely would bowl again in this type of tournament.

If KEITH is around this thread, maybe you should list a projected payout with the money you have. We were led to believe that the money was "GUARANTEED" and for $20,000 1st place with the top 4 places "GUARANTEED", it could've/would've been easy to split the prize money 72  ways to make a $1300 payday (thats with the "GUARANTEED" 1st - 4th places and 5th - 72nd getting only $500 a piece)..... or even $1000 72 ways with the remaining money ($21,600) being put on the top 4 places.

Overall... the experience to bowl this was good. But the main reason why we bowled was because of the "GUARANTEED" money....

    GOOD LUCK to all !!!

When we were there last week Keith did say the 1st 4 spots are GUARANTEED!  He is going to invite 1 in 10 entries back to bowl the finals.  So if they get 300 entires they will invite the top 30 back to bowl for the top prizes.  Keith also told me that everyone that makes the finals will cash.  He expects to pay enough to cover everyones travel expenses when they come back to bowl in September.

Re: HUGE BOWLING TOURNAMENT AT ISLETA CASINO 20,000 guaranteed 1st place

Here's the problem I see so far....

Guaranteed money is nice, but according to the standings list updated on 4/25, there has only been 85 entries.  At a 1 - 10 ratio to come back, thats only 9 people so far (of course entries should go up over the next couple months) Since this was based off 5000 entries (there's no way he's gonna get that many..... I would have said 500 max), my question now is how many people are going to get paid?  Is it guaranteed 72 spots, or is the cashing ratio 1 - 10?  These figures won't stop me from coming in and giving it a try (probably Monday June 30 before singles/doubles)  I just have to check what I already have planned and change a few things around.

I don't think I'll be too worried about the dividers....although that does look really interesting.

    Any other thoughts?

Oh yeah.... Keith.... thanks for the email flyer.  :)  I appreciate the quick response.

As I understand it he is paying 1 in 10 and the the top 4 places are GUARANTEED 58K.
