Coach Needed - Dallas/Ft. Worth Area

My husband and I are looking for a coach in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.  I average 180 and he averages 186.  We would like to become scratch bowlers and competitive in tournaments.  We are looking for someone who is versatile in their coaching style and also up to date on current coaching trends and practices.  We are both visual learners, so someone who will video tape and/or do computer analysis would be preferred.  If anyone has had experience with someone, in this area, that fits that description, please respond.

    Thanks!

There are several great coaches already in the metroplex and several more soon. If the Texas governor rubber stamps the USBC relocation, within the next year you will have the greatest concentration of top level coaches and technology anywhere in the world including Lake Whales, FL.

But if you just can't wait and would like to get started, you have Susie Minshew a two time USBC coahc of the year and myself both of us are on the Southside of the Metroplex and both use Ebonite BowlersMap for video technology.  Then not to mention the great Del and Carloyn Ballard although up in NRH arer definately worth the trip.  There are diffinately more but these are the first to come to mind.   I have attached contact numbers below.

    Good Luck!!

    Thank you for responding!

I have contacted Susie and we could not firm up a date for both my husband and I to go together.  I am currently not working, so I may try to go without him.  I have also emailed Carolyn, but have received no response; I guess I need to call.  You mentioned yourself; I suppose this means you coach, so would you want to set a date to help us?  What is the best way to contact you?

I would also recommend Susie Minshew.  She is very professional and up to date.   I have only met Kelly once and been at related functions  a couple of times.  Like Kelly said there a number of coaches in the DFW area.  When looking for a coach ask for a resume and see if they meet your needs.  I would say to interview the coaches.  This will save time and get what you are looking for.  Many coaches specialize and many do not practice coaching.  They have certified but do not coach.

I usually do not post here, but I think I might give some insight here. I know all of the coaches listed here quite well, Susie, Kelly, Del and Carolyn, and would highly recommend any and all of them! I also know Robert as well (although not as well as the others) but from my experiences and time with him I would recommend him as well!

And I also would trust all recommendations from any of these coaches.

Remember, coaches of this quality and ability are quite busy and in high demand. I can speak from experience that finding the time to coach a new student is hard, however if you get to schedule any time with any of these great coaches it will be time well spent!

    Good Luck
