    Drilling Ball

I've been bowling for most of my life and I've always hated having to pay to have a ball drilled each time I get a new one or need an old one re-drilled. I've been trying to learn how to drill balls (more so the technique since I don't have my own equipment) so that I don't have to pay to do it anymore, and I've also thought about owning my own pro shop one day. Any suggestions as to where I might get more information on this subject. Thanks.

You could try to work with your local pro-shop as an apprentice. We all could use an extra hand once in a while. The other way would to go to IPSIA and sign up for the classes they have.

IBPSIA training is very good and from what I have heard so is the Ebonite training. Kegel also has training. The drilling is no big thing. It's the meassuring and other ball work. IBPSIA also offers business related classes as well as USBC has coaching classes. There is a lot more to pro shop operating than just drilling balls. Many people think that it is just drilling and ball repair. they have no idea of what is involved.
