    BPAA Coming to the Rescue

I am confused how the BPAA can help making bowling a "sport"?   Our proprietors won't give us all of their lanes for a state tournament, they have to keep 8-10 lanes free for possible birthday parties even though we are trying to schedule 2 years in advance.

Bowling scores have soared so the USBC doesn't want to give out awards anymore because there are too many of them.  Well, who is making those scores so easy.  Isn't it a combination of the proprietors laying down an easy shot and the USBC turning their back by checking the lanes once a year instead of on a monthy or even semi monthly basis or after a high score was bowled.

The biggest complaint we get from bowlers is that the season is too long, 33 weeks.  We have tried to get one of the proprietors to try having a league for just 30 weeks but the only way they will do it is if you pay additional fees to cover those 3 weeks and then some won't do it then.  Do you really think the BPAA is going to address this problem?

At this point I really don't care where USBC locates.  But I do want to know exactly what our members dues are paying for?  And I would like to hear what kind of ideas the BPAA has that will improve bowling's image that USBC hasn't thought of.   Just being in the same building doesn't say much to me, especially living in the computer age.  How does that improve our image to the bowlers or the potential new bowlers?  Sorry, I need more info!
