Dear Doctor Doom:
Actually, it's likely that hardly anyone even looks at the post counts anymore. They are much more "inconvenient" to view since the new-look forums were put into place.
In fact, I'm sure that -- until last night, when I was responding to you in this thread -- it's been at least six months since I even took a look at the post counts. And I did so, only to make sure that you and Randy weren't listed (and that by "removing" myself, Don would "take over" the No. 1 spot, for all it's worth, which is exactly nothing).
I could care less about how many times people post on this forum. I do care about the person who wants to hide their average. For what reason is this an option? a little help from the webmaster god would help. If they really exist.
In a similar vein, would anyone think it's OK if a bowler were allowed to instruct his/her local association not to "release" his/her average to anyone?

For (a mythical) example, more than likely, a bowler's previous-season average would be available in an association yearbook. But what if a bowler were to request and/or demand that his/her Jan. 1 or current-season average not be released to anyone (especially a tournament director)?
But there COULD be other reasons, too.

Doctor Doom: In that case then the bowler would bowl scratch, as his/hers average could not be verified. Or if average verification was requested after the fact, as in the 40 Frame Game in Albuquerque. No verification, no money. Nothing gained as far as I can see
Isn't it, too, POSSIBLE that someone such as "Mr. Classified Division" Jeff Kistler would prefer not to be listed in the Find a Member database?
After all, look how many times that other posters made note of his averages (as per that database).

Whether you are implying it or not, I HAVE NEVER SAID that Mr. Kistler broke any rules. You can review all of my posts on the subject to verify that. And I certainly haven't, as some posters have, called him any names and/or derogatory terms.
My answer was simply to point out that it's POSSIBLE that -- for whatever reason(s) -- Mr. Kistler might prefer not be be included in the Find a Member database.
I don't know whether Mr. Kistler cares about the database, one way or the other, but I'm simply raising the POSSIBILITY (in line with the various viewpoints expressed in this thread).

Likewise, I only attempted to reply to your post.

Dear Randy:
Thank you so much.
Some would say that I do, indeed, have (as the saying goes) "the memory of an elephant."
