Not to try and read your mind, but are you actualy refering to the old Tarzan movie??? and not memory

I'm not sure as I've never watched an old Tarzan movie in my life. I was just thinking about how old elephants know where the graveyard is and when it's time to go to it.

Kinda' like the old timers that spend their final years in Florida before the inevitable "dirt nap"

I thought I saw that on the Discovery Channel or something. I could be mistaken but I don't remember Johnny Weissmuller in the picture.

    Maybe it was Ron Ely??????................................lol!

1932 TARZAN, THE APE MAN (99 minutes - video, VCD, DVD)
Johnny Weissmuller. Maureen O'Sullivan. Now we're talking! Jane tags along with her father and his partner as they safari in search of the mysterious elephant graveyard. Once they are deep in the jungle, Tarzan "discovers" Jane and promptly kidnaps her. They, quickly, fall in love and then the action begins. The safari is captured by a tribe of pygmies and Tarzan must rescue them - with the help of his friends, the elephants.

Weissmuller & O'SullivanThis is a fantastic adventure film! Weissmuller is easily the best known of the movie Tarzan's and does a great job (even if Tarzan isn't portrayed as the intelligent guy he is in the books). What can I say about Maureen O'Sullivan? She IS Jane; intelligent, sexy and quite capable of taking care of herself (until she meets Tarzan)...

Remade in 1959 with Denny Miller and in 1981 with Miles O'Keeffe.

I did say it was an OLD TARZAN MOVIE  LOL

DrD I remember seeing the original one on TV.

On another note seeing where this thread went I'm sorry I mentioned anything about "find a member" as no one read my follow up post that the 2 people I mentioned are now viewable and I believe it was a data processing error on the WINLABS end not the bowlers request.

Ray, I remember the orignal also, that's why I made the connection I did to the elephant graveyard. TCM had the original King Kong on the other day, I remember that on TV when I was a kid, and yes Kevin, they did have TV when I was a kid  LOL. As far as the direction the thread took oh well high jacking is a way of life.

     Dear Doctor Doom (and others):

Indeed, thread hijacking "is a way of life."

But it sure seems that you (and others) think it's OK when YOU do it but are extremely critical of me when I do it.

But such first-person thinking is also "a way of life."

    Have a good day, everyone.

Please highlite where I said YOU hijacked this thread. The statement hijacking is a way of life sounds pretty generic to me, and does not reference any one in particular. I would absolutely agree that WE have all hijacked our share, like I said it's a way of life on these boards. all the plot twists just make it more interesting.

    Re: Find a member

Back on track sorta.....If everyone isn't in the find a member it might as well be scrapped.....

As for the Tarzan movies I have seen them all.  I found Bo Derek quite a Jane.  They even had to pull one of the apes off her...

This reminds me of the old days when I had a dial up modem.  Watching the dots crawl in the progress box.  What is it like if you still have a dial up?  You probily go to sleep before getting to the next page.

    Re: Find a member

Can someone tell me why there is an option to not have a bowler in the find a member?

Dosn't that defeat the purpose of the site?

How can a sec, assn. rep. or tournament director find a bowler?

It should be manditory to be in there and It should be manditory to have a middle init.

    D.M.,

I can't answer that question you would have to call USBC to find out why.

However backing up your past complaints on the find a member being down for maintenance during the day on weekends, I ran into this myself. We are running our state tournament and a few times I wanted to verify a bowlers membership or average and the site was down. Seems like this could be done at night not during the day.

    Re: Find a member

Ray if I am not mistaken it is down every sat morn. from midnight till 8:30 am central.  It was down much longer than that a few times.  In an e-mail they told me they were having trouble with the new sys. They didn't explain why anyone could have their name taken off.

If they are allowed to take their name off the list how can anyone verify anything?  It defeats the purpose of the whole thing.

as long as you're using aol 9.0 (or some such "fast" dial-up) and signed in at about 530am local time when NO ONE else is using the system, you're totally golden. :)
for the most part, though, it totally blows. that's why i usually only come on here when i'm at work, using their super-fast internet of awesomeness.

don't be hatin' on the broke folks who still have dial-up. :(
