I was wondering ,why did they change the lane conditions to what the Pros are using for all. I'm not a Pro, now its getting fustrating to shot a decent game. I was carrying a 211 and 212 last year, now i'm barely carrying a 193. I've tried changing alot of things even getting a new ball.My thing is if I wanted to do what the Pros are doing, I would have tried to go Pro. So, why were we not ask about this big switch ?
If you wish to bowl in a house that has easy lane conditions that are no challenge, talk to your proprietor or change to a house that has those easy lane conditions that you seem to crave for your ego.
That was not what I was emplying. Its just that these new shots they've been laying down are very confusing at times. And,you have a very slim room for error. It has nothing to do with my ego,I Love bowling and being competative. If you really had paid attention, I was really asking for HELP !!!
Your first post sounded like whining to me, but maybe you need the assistance of a coach.
If your proprietor has changed the lane conditions to a SPORT shot and removed the CHINA, and has not registered with USBC, this could be big trouble. You may need to talk to your local association manager and get a lane taping done and sent to Hdqtrs.
This may get him to revert back to a correct HOUSE shot and let everyone score those amazing awards.
you should work harder and get the average down to 180 or below. then you could bowl the classified division of the usbc open next year. i know lots of bowlers doing that for a few years now. they bowl in really tough houses, avoiding the centers with the easy shots. then they bowl in tournaments with their lower averages and take advantage of the bowlers who have easy house shot averages.

Garl, I can't tell if your response is tongue in cheek or if it's serious. Assuming it is serious, what penalty could be imposed against a proprieter for having a non registered Sport shot as opposed to what is called a typical House shot?
That doesn't sound cool at all. That's sandbagging. I said ,I like being competative not to take advantage of anybody.
Mr. Walsh I want to say Thank You, I didn't know about that.I thought they just turned everyhouse to a sports shot.
Proprietors could face stiff penalties from USBC (from a slap on the wrist and a requirement to have unannounced checks on their lanes to suspension of the certification.) Where are the Sport Bowling people in WI when you need a honest answer to a question? Come on USBC, jump right in here. I would be interested in what Mr. Eoff has to say.
Sport shot PBA Experience patterns are only SUPPOSED to be given out to leagues that have registered with USBC as Sport leagues, but then KEGEL came out and published three different sets of patterns, one set recreational, one set challenging and one set serious. How is USBC going to police This?
I was partly tongue in cheek but this problem really gets to me, considering the Mr. K situation with Nationals.
Garl,
New legslation is needed. The lanes meet the minimum requirements for a tytpical house shot.

DD, you are correct. You can put out whatever you want as long as you have your 3 units. The problem is people think you are supposed have a big wall!
NO PEOPLE! Just because a house uses a flatter pattern, doesn't mean they are sandbagging. Good for that house! The problem with the whole tournament thing is averages are based on these inflatted bullcr*p scores. You get someone who bowls in a tough house and his average is truly reflecting his abilty, he must be sandbagging. GET A GRIP.
WITH THE BALLS TODAY, HOW MUCH MORE HELP DO YOU NEED?

i agree, to an extent. i don't think that bowlers who are challenging themselves by bowling on a tougher pattern are automatically cheating. i think that EVERYONE who's actually serious about this game should be challenging themselves by bowling on a tougher pattern. i do think, though, that whether a person is cheating depends on their motivations, and that means that we may never know the "true cheaters" from the people who are just trying to improve their games by bowling at a house that's a little more challenging. i don't think that everyone SHOULD be bowling on a wall. i just think that almost everyone DOES bowl on a wall (because that's what they have at the houses they bowl in).
if EVERYONE is bowling in a house that uses a flatter pattern and EVERYONE has an average that reflects his ability, that's one thing. a house putting down a shot that could be equivalent to a sport shot and not calling it what it is=averages that need to be adjusted.

cicada, you freakin' kill me.
your "filed under" tag made me laugh for about 10 minutes.
