Stand them on their ear just for laughs, and keep us posted as to how it goes. Please give Kevin and Jeff my regards, just give them the old, Doom says YO. BE SAFE MY FRIEND.
wish i could be there for the get together, especially since kc is only a couple of hours away BUUUUUT alas it's not meant to be since i will be in wichita during the time.
PrinceVince:I don't want to make this too complicated. Let's meet at 5:00 on Thursday at the registration area. Then we can meet again about an hour before the party. I won't be at the party, I'm going to the Orioles-Royals game on Friday. If my flight is delayed I won't make the 5:00 meeting. I get in at 3:53 on Thursday.
All ... count me in for Thursday at 1700.
I had a couple of options as far as where to stay, how to get there, et al. I was initially going to come out today but as I was getting things in order, my Tuesday night team gave me grief about missing the final night as we were (at the time) closing in on first place. Then I looked at the workshops and decided that the only one I really cared about was Rules and made a decision to come out first thing Thursday morning.
My return flight is Saturday afternoon, the latest I could catch a flight without missing Mother's Day ... (mine is driving up from Southern VA and the earliest flight on Sunday was the same flight Saturday - dang airlines). This year, "Bowl for the Cure" starts the Saturday session (it has followed legislation the last two years) and legislation is slated to begin at 1000. It is likely I will miss the last few items before I need to leave to drive to the airport.
I am staying a half mile away at the Fairfield (almost $30 cheaper/night and the HSI connection is free) and am renting a car.
cheers
DrD,
I knew you'd be worried if I didn't report in that Joanne & I arrived safe and sound today in KC.
L2B,
Looking forward to getting together again. We're at the Holiday Inn downtown about 2 miles away and are saving the same amount of money.

Really dissapointed that I am not able to attend the convention this year.....Tip back an O'Doul's for me Ray and Spread the cheer....Hope everyone arrives safely and has a good time....Check in with the St. Louis Group our AM is Dale Bohn....
Hey I showed up and no one was there. I did see a small group of very short old people mulling around but thought they couldn't be dot.comers. I bet that of the nearly 1500 people there only 50 were 6' tall. Question are bowlers really that short or just their reps.

*raises hand*
i'm totally that short. any of the foum 5 will vouch for me. :)
they, however, are definitely not that short.
DM, I was standing over to the side towards the elevators. I am not 6' tall, the person who was standing next to me is only 5'6" at the most. I stayed out of the workers way as they were tearing down the registration tables.
Just kidding. I couldn't go to the get to gather. I had free room and board with family 20 mi. south of K.C. If I got there late I didn't get any supper. There really were a lot of short people there thou. I was the old man walking around with the bright yellow M hat or the Blue Detroit Tigers hat.

;) i'm reasonably sure that no one was insulted by your "short people" statement. now, if you'd called everyone "old" or "mean" or anything else that wasn't true, you probably would have had some takers.
p.s. you should always choose supper over meetings. always.
Guin,
If D.M. referred to anyone as old he would be referring to the younger crowd there. The delegates start at old and go up from there.
D.M. I thought you were the one wearing the Bush mask.
The alternative to getting old isn't very good. My neck still hirts from looking sideways at those big screens. Did anyone else hear the candidates all gave saying they thought playing it safe wasn't the path they would take? I like to gamble too but I always use my own money not the memberships.
D.M.,
You had a choice of sitting close to the big screens and wrentching your neck or sitting facing the screens and not being able to see the people on stage.
As far as gambling, USBC went all in with the Texas move. Let's hope they come out winning the hand.
