Ok this is my first time going to this tourny. All I ever really have done is state womens. And I'm pretty sure they are much more relaxed, then this one. I need to know about any special rules example- plugged bowlings balls allow? You know something the avg bear my not be aware of. As, I don't want to travel then be let down because I dont have something right or didn't do something right before I get there. Thanks for the help
So glad to hear you are trying it out. Be aware of the dress code, that's always an issue. They were going to outlaw shorts and skirts all together, but then rescinded it. You can wear shorts or skirts if they go past your fingertips when your arms are at your sides (I call it the "Sister Mary Francis rule"). They made one of our bowlers change last year, so they do enforce this rule. Also, no hats or tank tops, you can view the full details in the rules. They are available online. They are also strict about eating. No eating during competition.
I've never seen anyone inspect a bowling ball, you don't even need to fill out bowling ball cards anymore. I've gone to local tournaments where they weigh the bowling balls to check for balance, but I've never seen this done at the Women's Championship. I hear the Open Championship is more strict.
thanks for input
