Quad City USBC (Formerly Crown Point BA)

I'm looking for any of our 'seasoned' Smile bowlers out there that might have bowled in this league in the 70's or 80's.

I'm almost certain this is the association my dad bowled in and would like to talk to anyone who might have bowled with him.  I believe he was very active in this association around that time (maybe even served some officer positions) and was hoping maybe someone remembered him.  I know, 'needle in a haystack' and 'pathetic' are thoughts that come to my mind as well Sad

However, I ran across a box with his old championship trophies and awards, and even his old Columbia Black Knight bowling ball, with his name etched in it, and I'm thinking about building a shadowbox with all of his stuff and putting it up for display in my sports bar in my house.  I'd like to have a few stories to go along with it, sinceI think it will be a conversation piece.  My dad passed away well before I was able to talk with him about such things.

His name was Ronald (Ron) Furst, and any information would be greatly appreciated.  Also, try not to flame me to hard for such a sappy, sad attempt at collection information for strictly personal reasons Wink

Have your tried contacting the local association. You might get lucky and find out they have historical records in their yearbooks. You might also try the local historical association who might do a name search for you in the daily newspapers. I used them in Syracuse and fould some articles about bowling dating back to the Civil War and we got some pictures of the very first bowlilng center in Syracuse. Don Gates

Is this the Quad City (Iowa-Illinois) or a different association.  If it connected with Iowa-Illinois, I can give you a name of a person very active in that association.

It's the Quad City Association based in Crown Point, IN and supports the surrounding cities (Lowell, IN, etc.)

My guess is that it's a different association

    Dear sfurst:

You should be pleased that Randy responds to you with such things as "d" and "[" rather than the way he responds to me (and sometimes others).

I'm Bill Herald, and I approve this post.
