Doom, you know or know of Alayne Blomenberg?  She was a touring pro for years and, as a Rhode Island resident, once held the national local association tournament all events record.  My wife bowled with her for many years in the WIBC nationals with a 2nd place best finish in the Open division team event.

I've met Alayne, on a few occasions, she had some moderate success on the Women's Tour. A good friend of mine use to bowl with her at Cranston Bowl. I would go watch her from time to time, and got to chat with Alayne, very nice lady. I have often wondered what she was up to, as I never see her name in print  ie. results from any of the Women's Tournaments, notably, the Queen's or the National Tournament.

BTW, Don, I dug out that old Yellow Dot. It is not a bleeder, it is a 7 series Yellow Dot. Surprisingly, it is in good shape, after being in the garage for over 20 years. The climates I have lived in the last 17 years are not very healthy for a bowling ball, kept in the garage. I also found a gray Angle, and my purple Rhino, first 300 game, a black Rhino, the one casualty, it's cracked, an LT-48. The oldest one is a blue Crown Jewel, don't remember where that one came from. and last but not least, a Hammer Nail. Funny the the only ball to crack was the black Rhino, these balls have been exposed to some extreme heat, stored in the garage in Texas, Alabama, and Arizona. I bet there is no oil left in them.

Doom, Alayne never won a national tournament but was a good WIBC national tournament bowler, my wife enjoying many years of rotating with her and NikkiG in doubles in the two pros on a team era.

 

If you are really old you may remember another Rhode Island friend of ours who was a National PWBA champion, Rita Justice in the yellow dot 70s era.
