I remember when the Packers did that, however that Patriots game was in 1961, LOL. My Dad passed away the following year, so I remember things like that.  I figure by the time Brian, gets to be old enough to come down here, and bowl the Senior Masters, I will be able to cash as a Super Senior.

o baby - I can hardly contain myself.   Today is Tuesday and it is almost 5 PM.  Warmups start at 7 PM.  WOO HOO.

And being from St. Louis, I am not rooting for anyone.

Although I am rooting AGAINST the CUBS - I just can't wait to see the misery fate has in store for them this time around.

Sorry, Cubs fans, you will probably get to 2 outs in the ninth before your heart is ripped out.  LOL.  I can't wait.

And I know Ryan Howard will get it, but CC has a good argument for MVP.  He's carried Milwaukee on his back since arriving.

You guys aren't as old as I am (and you should be glad of that). But I recall seeing an NFL game when the Bears hosted the Los Angeles Rams AT WRIGLEY FIELD in either 1950 or 1951.

I'm Bill Herald, and I approve this post.

Randy, good luck to the brewers.  Maybe it'll be a Dodger/Brewer NLCS and we'll both have something to be cheering about this postseason..

thanks, with that little renewed vigor from the last 6 games, they're pumped now. I'm hoping for a great finish in Oct.

I can say the same about my Dodgers Randy.  that 8 game skid a month or so ago had me worried but they've seemed to turn it around.  Put up or shut-up time of year.  (kind of like another debate around these threads.

    Randy,

What's up with the Brew crew tonight?  What the HE double hockey sticks are they doing starting a guy in the postseason with this little experience?  I mean great stats, but this is the postseason.

    CAREER PITCHING STATS
Year TM W L G GS CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB SO SV HLD BLSV ERA
    2007 Mil  9 5 20 17 0 0 110 103 48 45 8 37 101 0 0 0 3.67
    2008 Mil  0 0 4 4 0 0 24 22 5 5 3 8 20 0 0 0 1.88
    Career   9 5 24 21 0 0 134 125 53 50 11 45 121 0 0 0 3.35

4 games in all of 08? and this is the game 1 starter?  That means they have a belief the guy was good for 2 starts IMO and i don't get that.  Best of luck to you all in the rest of the series but in less I'm missin something, your manager may get lynched for this one.

You are probably correct there, Digm.  Maybe should have rolled out Soupy - he had a few strong outings in the postseason here in St. Louis a few years ago.  Gonna be tough now as CC can't carry the team in a short series - especially after pitching on three days rest the last two outings.  Although I havent looked, maybe CC can pitch game 3 and 5 if it makes it that far.

    Re: RJN825

I don't really think starting Gallardo was a mistake. 3 unearned runs that wouldn't have happened had Weeks caught that ball at 1st for the double play. Then Cameron dropping that fly ball right after that. The inning would have been over before any runs were scored.

I want to see our offense try to be a little more patient at the plate. Every swing of the bat is to try and hit it to the moon (except Counsel) The team can't expect to win with the bats coming around in the 7th inning every game.

I'm not a real fan of Soupcan. His last few outings were horrible. I'm surprised he doesn't have whiplash from watching balls fly over his head every other pitch.

Sabathia is pitching for the 4th time in a row on 3 days rest. I don't know why everyone thinks that's a big deal. Remember when a 3 man pitching rotation was the norm? C.C. does it and can pitch complete games, no problem. He's a big dude and strong.

Most of our starters are iffy right now and the china doll Sheets isn't in the picture at all. The bull pen is gonna' really get a workout but when it's win or go home, there's really no other option. A win tonight will be huge coming back to Miller Park.

...It seems this thread has my user name for the header so I guess we'll talk about whatever pleases us. Go start your own bowling topic thread and talk about bowling. If you dont want to talk baseball go somewhere else if you dont like it. No one is forcing you to visit this particular thread or any other thread for that matter.

Excuse me -  I believe the title is U S Bowling Congress (USBC).  Not U S Baseball.  I thought this forum was for people to express ideas and thoughts about bowling.  Guess I'll get on a baseball forum and see if there are any bowlers on there.
