The laser that everyone was and is talking about is for lane inspection not dressing inspections. There might be a portable UV reader out there in the works, but like Ray said, the cost would be more than the local could afford.

...probably could have been quite a few of them out there for what that bowling ball motion study cost. I could have told them aggressive coverstocks hook more and absorb oil off the lane faster. I could have also told them a ball drilled with the CG on either side won't make a significant difference in ball motion.

...and I would have told them that info for free.

So would a lot of other people.  But if they took our word for it how would they jusify their "phony baloney jobs" and the $ spent on the testing facility which I suspect will cost even more $ to have a new one built in Texas..
If you are not prepared to hear the answer, don't ask the question. Its amazing what you can accomplish when you're not concerned with who gets the credit.

This Dale Jenkins guy is a actor as he's on commercials during PBA telecasts for the ball manufacturers.

Is he selling them, or trashing them, like on his little you tube rant.

He does his little schtick in a bowling center and then a ball manufacturer logo fills the screen and commercial is over. Today there were 2. One Columbia300 and the other for Track.

It's all about selling balls ,not the opposite that he previously stated.

Unless he sold out his previous beliefs for a few bucks, although I doubt that's the case. More like a publicity stunt to me.

I'm a coach. They can put any ball out there, I raise my students' averages 10-17 pins teaching mechanics and kinesiology, It's too lengthy to write about here.
