    ever picked the 1-7-10 ??????

I have been bowling for 35 years now and average 215. I have never seen this left in an adult. Well I left it and picked it to save a 237 game. Very strange. Has anyone else ever picked up this most unusal spare? Thanks Buck

     Dear Buck:

    I've never left it.

I have seen other bowlers leave it on rare occasions, but I don't believe I've ever seen it converted.

I'm Bill Herald, and I approve this post.

Saw my Son pick it up when he was 6 years old. 6 pound ball, head pin took out the 7 pin, ball took out the 10 pin.

A member of my women's league left this last week. She uses a 10# ball and she picked it up. Though it's not a "real" split, I still put it in my newsletter. I've not seen this left in 14 yrs of bowling but it was great to see it picked.

My aunt who is in her late sixties, leaves all kinds of crazy splits. 1-7-10 and 5-7-10's are her specialty. She rolls an 8 lb ball less than 10 mph that some how hooks at the. If she gets it too far right (7 board or less), the oil patter pushes her ball into the gutter, other wise she throws a mean hook. I think I can run down the lane and catch her ball before it hits the pins...haha.  In any case, our local Sour Apple queen has picked it up a couple of times.
